Case Suggestion Form

The first step to submitting a case is to fill out the following case suggestion form. Once the editors have reviewed your suggestion, you will receive the decision via email.

We are looking for cases that include:

Common imaging presentations of both common and uncommon diseases.
Uncommon imaging presentations of common diseases.
Pathognomonic imaging features (i.e., Aunt Minnies).
Imaging findings that carry a classic differential diagnosis.
Common Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures for common diseases with clear teaching points in imaging findings, techniques, or outcomes.
Common IR procedures for uncommon diseases.

We discourage submission of cases with these features:

There is uncertainty of the actual diagnosis.
The diagnosis or presentation is so rare that it could be accepted as a case report in the peer-reviewed literature.
It is an uncommon imaging presentation of an uncommon or rare disease.

Provide as much information as possible to facilitate the review process. If you do not provide sufficient information, you will be asked for additional information before your suggestion can be approved. If your suggestion is accepted, you will receive an e-mail containing detailed instructions on how to submit your case.

Differential Diagnosis of:*

For this field, you must select some feature of your case upon which you will create a list of differential diagnoses. This can be an anatomic location (e.g., cerebellopontine angle cistern masses), an imaging feature (e.g., tree-in-bud opacities), or clinical feature (e.g., pediatric right lower quadrant pain). You are not permitted to enter the case diagnosis in this field.

List of Differential Diagnoses:*

Based upon the case feature you selected in the previous step, please provide a list of 3-5 entities/diseases. For example, if the case feature you selected was “cerebellopontine angle cistern masses”, the 3-5 diseases you might include would be: vestibular schwannoma, meningioma and epidermoid cyst. If the case feature you selected was “tree-in-bud opacities”, your list of 3-5 differential diagnoses might include: mycobacterial pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia, viral pneumonia and aspiration. For IR procedures, this list of 3-5 entities could include differential diagnoses of an imaging feature, related or alternative IR procedures, different techniques or equipment in the same procedure, or different outcomes and complications of the procedure.
