  • One or more nodular or nodule-like observations within a larger nodular or nodular-like observation

Usage: 

  • Nodule-in-nodule architecture is an ancillary feature favoring malignancy.
    • Nodule-in-nodule architecture specifically favors HCC as opposed to malignancy in general
    • Radiologists at their discretion may apply nodule-in-nodule architecture to upgrade category (up to LR-4) for such masses.
